The Building & Safety Division ensures construction in Ventura County meets state and local safety standards. The Environmental Health Division safeguards public health and the environment by enforcing state and county regulations. We conduct inspections, offer workshops, and take necessary enforcement actions. Our team collaborates with various agencies and provides crucial advice, especially during emergencies like earthquakes, fires, and disease outbreaks.
The Planning Division oversees land use and zoning in Ventura County’s unincorporated areas. We handle residential, commercial, and industrial permits, enforce zoning regulations, and coordinate regional programs. Our website offers access to planning documents, permits, meeting agendas, and more to inform and assist the community.
The Code Compliance Division enforces laws to maintain a clean, safe environment in Ventura County. The Building and Land Use Enforcement team ensures public health and safety in unincorporated areas by upholding building codes and zoning ordinances.
